Book - YES YES YES

MOVIE - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not even giving Hollywood a chance to break my heart with this one.
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is probably one of THE MOST beautiful books in the history of time - watching it redone on the big screen starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock make my stomach turn.
The little boy that they choose to play my sweet Oskar
(who in the book makes you lose yourself in him
and find yourself again every other chapter)
is just an annoying little twerp, per usual.
The book version of Oskar is someone that I fell in love with from the first page and probably my favorite fictional character in any story I have ever read.
Justice for the written version is no where.
How do I know? Because 99.9% of every book to screen adaptation sucks balls. My Sister's Keeper, Time Traveler's Wife, ummm TWILIGHT?!? Come now people.. TERRIBLE.
David Fincher did it right with Dragon Tattoo, but I feel like that was a whole different story. Yes Stephen Daldry, you have done some really amazing stuff. I loved watching The Reader and crying myself to sleep every night for a week and of course I did the same with The Hours, but I am still not taking my chances with this one. If there is even a 1% chance that you will fuck up my love for this story I will inadvertently hate you for the rest of my life. And let's be honest there's a way bigger chance than that.
The trailer was alllll I needed to see, definitely boycotting this one.
If you have not read this book do yourself a HUGE favor and go buy it today, do NOT see this bound to be horrific version!!!!
This is not a hater post, but a public service announcement saying the book will change your life, so just do that. Thanks! :)
PS
THESE ARE 2 BRILLIANT FILMS BY STEPEHEN DALDRY..
