I would like to start off the new month with a post which actually won't contain images per usual, but it is something that I really felt deserved it's own space and attention. I have not been featuring nearly enough music lately and this takes the cake when it comes to any newness I have heard recently.
"The group has managed to piece together a beautiful conglomeration of borrowed sounds, spun them into a grungy musical cloth, and put out something unique and special.
Whole and organic, their music stands out as something authentic among the hordes" -The Portland Mercury
I received a lovely email from a mystery member of this band yesterday - thank you for the compliments and kind words. It always makes me so happy when people reach out and tell me that they enjoy this page and it makes them feel anything at all. I am still not sure which member sent it since it was signed from the band, but I had a squeal of a time watching and playing a little guessing game on who it could be. Checked out your videos as well and I really, really enjoyed them. Definitely a Joy Division sound with a hint of Iggy Pop. Ian Curtis was a fascinating lyrical genius, and even though those guys were ahead of their time - they have a special place in my heart for obvious reasons. Obvious if you have ears, a thumping heart and a soul that burns bright no matter what. When I listened to the songs you sent me the coolest part was that there was something different going on there and that something is all yours. Hats off to all of you for putting tother a cool, unique sound with nice lyrics in a sea of sameness. Love the black and white cuts and the live video is something I have already emailed to everyone I know. I am touched that my blog caught your eye and now your band has me all ears. Have been listening to Bodhi for the last 24 hrs on repeat.
Thank you for the nice mail again -
here it is for everyone to take a listen :)
